Corporate Governance Codices (CDC) developed on an international level to an important instrument to safeguard compliance of companies with applicable laws and regulations for the benefit of their stakeholders. In 2014 91 countries have implemented 345 codices, - in industrial and emerging countries. Drivers of this process are e.g. the globalization of the capital markets, the international financing of international conglomerates, cross-border mergers, economic crises and the deteriorating trust in national and international companies and business transactions. The GGI Special Interest Group “Corporate Governance and Compliance” will describe the important elements of CDCs and a tool box for proper implementation of CDCs.
