About Chris
Chris oversees the provision of advice to businesses covering tax planning. Chris has built up in-depth knowledge and experience in helping companies to identify projects and expenditure which will qualify for enhanced tax relief. He also enjoys working with businesses in the not-for-profit sector, advising on a range of issues such as VAT, employment taxes and the use of subsidiaries. Chris started his career in tax in 2007 working for a large multi-national firm of accountants and has spent time working in a smaller local firm before joining Scrutton Bland in 2018. He has significant experience in making claims for Research & Development tax relief on behalf of companies, helping them identify projects and expenditure which will qualify for enhanced tax relief. Chris takes a keen interest in working with businesses in the Not-For-Profit sector, advising on a range of issues such as VAT, employment taxes and the use of trading subsidiaries. Working with colleagues in the Nexia International Network, Chris advises globally mobile individuals and their employers in relation to their UK tax and social security liabilities and reporting requirements.
