Shri S.S. Mundra


 

Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank of Baroda, one of the oldest and largest banks in India, which was started in 1908 by the Maharaja of Baroda.
Shri S.S. Mundra received the GGI Excellency Award for Exceptional Services during the GGI Asia-Pacific Regional Conference in Mumbai, India (05-08 December 2013). Shri S.S. Mundra delivered the Key Note Speech during the conference.

The award was presented by Mr. Peter Kaeser, GGI Regional CEO Asia-Pacific, and Mr. Claudio G. Cocca, GGI President & Founder.
Shri S. S. Mundra began his career as a Probationary Officer at the Bank of Baroda in March 1977. He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce, along with the CAIIB qualification. He has occupied several challenging positions in the bank over the course of his career. For example, he became General Manager in June 2007, where he was responsible for European Operations (UK). He went on to become Executive Director of the Union Bank of India in 2010 and was promoted to Chairman of the Bank of Baroda, India’s second-largest bank, in January 2013.

Shri Mundra has wide ranging Board experience and was included recently in the list of India Inc’s Top 100 CEOs as part a survey conducted by the Economic Times. He was named “Best Public Sector Banker – HR” at the Sunday Standard Best Bankers’ Awards 2013.
