IADC elects GGI Member Susanna Norelid

Susanna Norelid, founder and Managing Partner of Advokatfirman NorelidHolm in Stockholm is the first Swedish female lawyer to ever be elected as a member of the internationally renowned association "The International Association of Defense Counsel", IADC.

IADC is an invitation-only association with members dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism and service and to uphold the rule of law and integrity of the court system.

The IADC membership is comprised of the world’s leading corporate and insurance lawyers. The association was founded in the United States in 1920 and has to date approximately 2,500 selected members. Sweden has only had two previous members in IADC.

“When I was told about the nomination during the summer, it came as a complete surprise”, says Susanna Norelid. “To then be elected as a member amongst some of the absolute top in the profession – world wide - is extremely exciting and a great honour”.

Susanna Norelid is one of the founders of Advokatfirman NorelidHolm, a corporate law firm situated in central Stockholm, Sweden. The firm was set up in 2006 and has since made an impressive impact on the Swedish, as well as the international, market. Its client base is a mixture of Swedish and international companies and most are multinational.

“I hope that the nomination and election will increase the interest for our legal services and that our existing clients will get further affirmation that their choice of law firm has been the correct one”, says Susanna.

Susanna also hopes that the election will strengthen the efforts in trying to convince talented women to pursue a career in law despite the fact that it is still a highly conservative and male dominated business.

“For me, this election is another reassurance that it is possible to be a woman, lawyer and business leader – active on the international business arena, without sacrificing a family life or the quality of work”, Susanna concludes.
