Visit of GGI member firms in Beirut and Tel Aviv
During his journey through the Middle East, GGI founder and chairman Claudio Cocca, took the opportunity to visit GGI member firms in Israel and the Lebanon. He met up with GGI regional Middle East/Asia Manageer, Peter Kaeser in order to keep appointments with prominent entrepreneurs and bankers, as well as with Bar of Beirut Association President amal Haddad, and, last but not least, with GGI member firms.
From 9 to 12 May Cocca and Kaeser were in the Lebanon and paid a visit to the two GGI member firms in Beirut, Sarkis Sakr & Partners, a dynamic firm supplying financial audit and accountancy services as well as tax consulting, and Abou Jaoude & Associates, a well-established law firm with experts in tax and management consulting, corporate finance and international trust and estate planning. Abou Jaoude is the leading business law firm in the Lebanon. It was the first law firm in Lebanon with an integrated partnership structure.
Both firms joined GGI in October 2009. Following their visit to the offices of both firms, respective company partners Eddie Sakr and Carlos Abou Jaoude introduced Claudio Cocca and Peter Kaeser to the fascinating and breathtaking capital city of Beirut that never sleeps. There they experienced the fusion of cultures and faiths, the exquisite restaurants and the most important sights. This included visits to the Souk el Barghout (market at the martyr's place) and an enjoyable city stroll along the Corniche. As the focus of the visit was to the commercial centre, there was not sufficient time to view the archaeological treasures of the National Museum or the contemporary Lebanese art on show at the Sursock Museum. By the way, Beirut is home to the first law school in the world, dating back to the Phoenician era.
On 12 May they continued their journey on into Jordan, where the two gentlemen visited GGI member candidate firms.
Thereafter Claudio Cocca made his way to Israel where he paid a visit to the two GGI member firms located there. He had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with all the partners of Vardi, Brukner, Ingber, Rozenzvieg CPA (VBIR CPA) in their brand new offices in order to inaugurate the new venue. VBIR CPA is a firm offering financial audit & accountancy services, tax and management consulting as well as corporate finance services. They joined GGI as recently as January 2010, but are already very actively working with other GGI members. Dov Ingber, one of the VBIR CPA partners, has already chaired a very interesting workshop at the last European Conference in Madrid on creativity and innovation and the one-stop-shop model. The other Tel Aviv GGI member firm Mr. Cocca visited is the well-established law office of Hirsch, Lottem & Co. - Law Offices, who have been GGI member since 2005. Ady Nordman guided Claudio Cocca through Nazareth, Haifa and Jerusalem.
